WOW Logistics recently welcomed new leadership to its accounting team with the addition of Robert Milz as Controller. Milz is responsible for guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures which will ensure that reported results are accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
He brings more than a decade of expertise from his time as a Controller at both Arrowhead Conveyor Corp and Memorylink Corp. These roles provided valuable experience in logistics, industrial automation, and manufacturing.
Milz is excited to join the leadership team of a growing organization with a renowned culture.
“I am leading an extremely talented group, and I am looking forward to providing strategy and guidance to help them execute the company objectives,” said Milz.
Since joining WOW, Milz has set ongoing objectives for himself and the accounting department. He and his team have already shortened month-end close, strengthened existing processes, and completed cross-training for each accounting role. Additionally, Milz completed the annual financial audit process and started identifying weaknesses in customer invoicing for pass-through expenses and triple net charges.
By establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending comprehensive financial plans, Milz is also helping achieve a stronger support system for the internal customers that count on his team.
Lynda Farrell, Chief Financial Officer, is excited about the leadership skills Milz brings to the controller position.
“The direction Robert brings to the role is invaluable,” Farrell commented. “It will have a positive effect on team collaboration and will be a valuable asset moving forward.”
