WOW Logistics® recently promoted Stephanie Nemetz to Controller. In her new role, Nemetz is responsible for directing and planning the preparation of internal and external financial reporting data.
Nemetz joined WOW Logistics in 2018 as a senior accountant. Within a year, she was promoted to Manager of Accounting. In total, she brings almost a decade of accounting experience to her new role.
As Controller, Nemetz oversees the financial reporting team and processes, including financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and regulatory reporting.
Her short-term goal is to drive consistency by developing standard accounting policies and streamlining accounting department processes. She will also contribute to implementing a new lease management system that integrates with the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Aaron Wallin, Vice President of Accounting, said Nemetz will be instrumental in identifying inefficient processes and facilitating improvements so processes can scale with the business.
“Stephanie is a critical thinker with a great understanding of companywide processes and systems and how they drive financial data,” Wallin said. “Her focus on continuous improvement is crucial as we review processes and controls to improve the delivery of financial information.”
Currently, Nemetz is focusing on upgrading the month-end close process and variance analysis.
“We’re implementing a more robust automated system and terminating current manual reporting processes,” Nemetz explained.
Nemetz’s long-term goal is to assist in finding a new ERP solution that serves her department’s needs and company growth. She is excited to leverage her experience with acquisitions and implementing ERP systems to achieve this goal.
Prior to WOW Logistics, Nemetz was with Trilliant Food and Nutrition. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from St. Norbert College.
