Donation Helps Needy Marathon County Families

WOW’s Schofield distribution center recently lent support to the First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry through the company’s WOW–We Care charity.

Schofield staff purchased, delivered, and distributed $250 of personal hygiene items, such as laundry detergent, bars of soap, dish soap, and toilet tissue. Items were delivered and distributed by WOW employees, Megan Drymalski, Lori Leggett, and Steve Leopold on Oct. 6.

WOW Logistics® created the We Care charity fund earlier this year as a way for employees and the company to give back to the community. Employees enrolled in the fund have a minimum of $1 each week deducted from their checks. To date, almost 70 percent of WOW employees are contributing to the We Care fund. The average bi-weekly donation among employees is almost $3.50, with the highest donation being $20.

The WOW-We Care charity fund is managed by a seven-person board, which reviews donation requests, as well as drives other charitable activities throughout the company.
