For Immediate Release
Appleton, Wis. – June 13, 2013: WOW Logistics® recently had its expert status in food-product storage and handling reaffirmed through a series of independent audits of its cooler facilities.
Conducted by ASI Food Safety Consultants, the audits inspected WOW facilities against the ultra-high “food processing plant” standard. WOW is the only 3PL in the United States to have all of its refrigerated warehouses audited at this more stringent level.
The WOW Logistics® warehouse and transportation facility in Jerome, Idaho achieved a perfect ASI audit score on its 2013 inspection. Likewise, other WOW locations scored equally high marks — three excellents and three very goods.
“Our audit scores are a testament to the cleanliness of WOW facilities, as well as the strength of standard operating procedures (SOP) we have in place,” said Scott Gleason, WOW Logistics® vice president of operations. “Perhaps more important than the SOPs themselves, however, is that our employees embrace the practices 100 percent. This commitment ensures that our customers’ products receive the highest level of care and service.”
ASI (formerly known as the American Sanitation Institute) annually inspects a variety of facilities, from food processors and retail establishments to warehouses and packaging facilities. Their audits ensure that locations meet national and, in some cases, global standards in food product management and quality processes, handling and storage, facility maintenance, strict pest control, employee training, and documentation.
