Neenah, Wis. – April 19, 2018: WOW Logistics Company® has named Meikah Dado as the 2018 winner of its dairy science scholarship. The $1,000 WOW Logistics Dairy Science Scholarship was founded in 2010 and is awarded annually to a qualifying student seeking their degree in the field of dairy or food sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dado was announced as the recipient of the award on April 18th at the International Cheese Technology Expo in Milwaukee, Wis.
Created in 2010, the WOW Logistics® Dairy Science Scholarship is awarded annually as a means to encourage and promote careers within the dairy manufacturing industry.
Dado is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Dairy Science and Life Sciences Communication. Dado currently works as an Assistant Calf Manager at Four Hands Holsteins dairy farm and is an elected state officer for Wisconsin’s FFA organization. She is also an active member of the Association of Women in Agriculture and the Collegiate Farm Bureau.
“Meikah was born into the dairy industry. She grew up on a 450 cow dairy farm and was involved in groups like 4-H and FFA at a young age,” said Howard Kamerer, President and CEO of WOW Logistics. “She has taken her background in dairy and will someday turn it into a successful career. WOW Logistics is proud to provide scholarships to hard-working students, like Meikah, who show a true passion for the Dairy Industry.”
After receiving her undergraduate degree, Dado hopes to attend graduate school for an animal science or dairy science program and eventually pursue a career working for the United States Department of Agriculture or the local or national Farm Bureau.
