WOW Logistics® Announces 2023 Dairy Science Scholarship Winner

WOW Logistics® selected Emma Dorshorst as the winner of its $1,000 dairy science scholarship. Dorshorst is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin.

Dorshorst is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine where she has been accepted early.

Currently, Dorshorst is a student employee in the Animal Necropsy section at the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and a Large Animal Veterinary Advanced Reproductive Technician at Origin Reproduction and St. Anne Veterinary Clinics. She is also a member of Badger Dairy Club, Association of Women in Agriculture, Wisconsin Holstein Association, Wood County Junior Holstein Association, and was the 2022 recipient of the Central Wisconsin Outstanding Junior Dairy Youth Award. In addition to her professional and extracurricular involvement, she maintains a 4.0 grade-point average in her dairy-related courses.

In the future, Dorshorst plans to be become a veterinarian.

WOW Logistics’ $1,000 dairy science scholarship was established in 2010 and is awarded annually to a qualifying student seeking a degree in the dairy or food science fields from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
