WOW Logistics® selected Hunter Holewinski as the winner of its $1,000 dairy science scholarship. Holewinski is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Holewinski is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he plans to establish and manage his own dairy farm with a creamery and farm store.
Currently, Holewinski is a student manager at UW Madison Dairy Cattle Center and works at Holewinski Dairy. He is also Treasurer of Shawano County Agriculture Ambassadors, Ag Day on Campus Co-Chair of UW Madison Collegiate Farm Bureau, and a member of UW Madison Badger Dairy Club, Alpha Gamma Rho, and UW Madison Poultry Club.
In the future, Holewinski aspires to integrate various elements of Wisconsin agriculture into his farm to highlight and promote them. The establishment of his farm store and creamery will offer a vehicle for this by fostering a tangible connection between farm and consumer.
“Hunter’s passion for dairy started with his family farm,” said Ashly Radka, Marketing Director at WOW Logistics. “He is taking the work ethic instilled in him growing up and focusing it on building a successful career that bridges the gap between farm and fork. WOW Logistics is proud to provide scholarships to hard-working students, like Hunter.”
WOW Logistics’ $1,000 dairy science scholarship was established in 2010 and is awarded annually to a qualifying student seeking a degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
