Appleton, Wis. – April 26, 2016: WOW Logistics Company® named Lauren Sipple as the 2016 winner of its dairy or food science scholarship. Sipple is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was announced as the recipient of the award April 13 at the International Cheese Technology Expo in Milwaukee, Wis.
Sipple, a Denmark High School graduate, is majoring in food science. She hopes to pursue a career as a research and development scientist in the dairy industry.
“Lauren showed a passion for the dairy industry at a young age and continues to be heavily involved in it through work experiences and school activities. She is someone we expect to make a positive impact in the dairy industry in years to come,” said Randy F. Radtke, WOW’s vice president of marketing.
Sipple is a sensory panelist for the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research, and is active in the UW-Madison Food Science Club, as well as the Student Dairy Showcase.
Founded in 2010, the $1,000 WOW Logistics® Dairy or Food Science Scholarship is awarded annually to a qualifying student seeking their degree in the field of dairy or food sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
