WOW Logistics® recently hired Joseph Cherney as Business Development Manager, Transportation.
Prior to WOW Logistics, Cherney was with United States Cold Storage, Inc. as Logistics Analytics Supervisor. In this role, he identified opportunities for optimization, reported supply chain performance metrics, and targeted enhancements to reduce costs. Cherney brings more than a decade of experience to the WOW Logistics team.
As Business Development Manager, Transportation, Cherney is responsible for driving strategic growth within the company’s transportation service offering. He will implement effective strategies to align the value of the service with the needs of customers.
“Throughout my career, I have always looked for opportunities to better serve customers and carriers,” said Cherney. “I have served on advisory boards, prioritized open and honest communication, encouraged complete transparency, and continuously sought further education on pricing strategies and market trends.”
Short-term, Cherney aims to understand WOW’s existing portfolio of transportation customers to optimize and strengthen those partnerships with organic and tactical strategies.
“A relationship with a customer isn’t just one-sided,” said Cherney. “I believe a relationship should be a mutually beneficial partnership where both parties work together to achieve success.”
Moving forward, Cherney’s goal is to see WOW remain a reliable, strategic partner within the logistics industry. He will leverage his expertise and work in tandem with the transportation team to develop strategic growth plans that help customers navigate challenges and accomplish their goals.
“Joe’s extensive experience adds necessary talent to the sales and transportation teams,” said Tom Clark, Chief Commercial Officer. “On top of that, he is a great cultural fit. It was immediately evident that he embraces the values we look for in our employees.”
