Appleton, Wis. – December 30, 2016: WOW Logistics® Co. recently gave its WOW-We Care Charity Inc. a major boost by matching all employee donations for the 2016 fiscal year.
The company will match the almost $12,000 WOW employees donated this year to the year-old non-profit charity.
“I’m proud to work for a company that not only supports charitable giving, but makes it a major focus,” said Tim Lisowe, vice president of human resources and president of the WOW-We Care Charity Inc. board. “These matching funds, along with the continued support of WOW employees, will enable the charity to truly make an impact in our community.”
President and CEO of WOW Logistics®, Howard Kamerer said that, the company was eager to help support the charity. “I have no doubt that our WOW-We Care Charity will take a leadership position in the community. I look forward to seeing the cause the group adopts to truly make a difference.”
WOW Logistics® created the WOW-We Care Charity in 2015 as a way for employees and the company to give back to the community. Employees enrolled in the fund have a minimum of $1 each week deducted from their checks. To date, almost 70 percent of WOW employees are contributing to the We Care fund. The average bi-weekly donation among employees is almost $3.50, with the highest donation being $20.
WOW-We Care Charity is incorporated as a separate 501(c)(3) entity, with its own bylaws and seven-person board. The board reviews donation requests, as well as drives other charitable activities throughout the company.
