WOW Logistics® recently promoted Molly McDonald to Vice President of Quality Control. In her new role, McDonald will ensure that all existing and future facilities, that are the result of organic growth and acquisitions, adhere to WOW’s quality and safety standards.

She joined the WOW team in 2014 as Director of Operations. In 2019, she was promoted to Director to oversee the newly-created Quality Control Department. McDonald and her team will continue to ensure food safety certification excellence and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulation compliance. Additionally, the department will focus on ensuring that operational procedures are standardized across the WOW Logistics infrastructure wherever possible.

She currently serves on the International Warehouse & Logistics Association (IWLA) Board as a co-director of the Food Council. In this capacity, McDonald created a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification program that allows warehouse companies to properly educate and certify food safety personnel.

“I’m looking forward to streamlining processes to ensure uniformity and consistency of service across all current and future WOW locations,” McDonald said. “This includes everything from quality and safety to standard operating procedures.”

One of her short-term goals is to ensure WOW’s facilities continue to achieve exceptional scores during annual ASI audit processes. WOW’s warehouses are ASI audited at the food processer level and consistently score 99% or above. In the long-term, McDonald plans to implement Safe Quality Food (SQF) facility certifications. This would add an additional dimension to WOW’s impressive food safety standards. Additionally, McDonald plans to enroll in OSHA’s Volunteer Protection Program. This program recognizes employers who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain illness and injury rates below the National Bureau of Labor Statistics averages within their industry.

“Molly has done an outstanding job leading the establishment of our Quality Control Department, and it’s thriving under her leadership,” said Howard Kamerer, President and CEO. “As our company continues to grow to meet the needs of our customers, her expertise will ensure our continued success at establishing standards of excellence and consistency at every WOW location.”

Prior to WOW Logistics, McDonald held various roles at Frito-Lay, Inc., including Zone Operations Manager, Productivity Analyst, and, most recently, Senior Productivity Manager. She managed the annual operating budget and implemented productivity strategies across labor, inventory, and fleet.
