WOW Logistics recently promoted Robert Milz to Controller.
Milz joined the WOW team in 2020, bringing more than a decade of experience. Most recently, he served as Manager of Operational Accounting. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all operational accounting functions including customer billings, cash receipts, electronic payments, month end accruals, and finance charges.
As Controller, Milz will manage financial reporting, leading a team of accounting managers and staff accountants utilizing advanced accounting software that processes the financial transactions of WOW and prepares accurate financial statements to show the financial performance of the company. Milz will also oversee internal control procedures, coordinate external audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
“I’m excited to leverage my experience to lead our accounting team into the age of automation and artificial intelligence,” said Milz. “We have a talented team, and they are excited to transition to a new system that can automate and streamline current processes.”
To start, Milz and his team will implement AI capabilities for capturing and processing invoices and streamlining the accounts payable workflows.
“This will enhance our financial reporting process and help me achieve a key goal: delivering real-time business insights,” said Milz.
Moving forward, he aims to build an advanced, yet flexible accounting system delivering AI-powered financial analytics and reports, which will be key in supporting anticipated company growth over the next several years.
“Robert’s experience in accounting leadership roles, combined with his deep understanding of WOW’s processes and commitment to adapting for future success, makes him an excellent fit for the Controller role,” said Tyler Lenz, Chief Financial Officer. “His proven ability to develop talent and optimize department resources ensures the team is well-positioned for continued growth.”
Prior to WOW Logistics, Milz held Controller roles for more than a decade with MemoryLink and, most recently, Arrowhead Conveyor Corporation. These roles provided valuable experience in logistics, industrial automation, and manufacturing.
